Kids' Ring Size Chart
The smallest sizes on our verified chart, compared across every supported sizing system — plus what to know before buying a ring for a growing child.
Is there a separate kids' sizing system?
No — children's rings are measured on the exact same US/Canada, UK/Australia, EU, and Japan scales used throughout this site. "Kids' ring size" simply refers to the smallest end of that scale, roughly US/Canada 3 to 5.5, which is why the chart below is filtered to that range for quicker scanning. If your child is a teenager or has larger hands, the full ring size chart covers the complete range.
Growing fingers change size faster than adults'
A child's ring size today may not fit in 6-12 months, so plan for that before buying.
Because children's hands grow quickly, many parents choose an adjustable or open-band ring for everyday wear, saving a precisely fitted fixed size for special occasions where it will only be worn briefly. If you do buy a fixed size, re-measure close to the purchase date rather than relying on an old measurement.
Measuring a child's finger safely
The same at-home method works, with a few extra precautions.
Follow the same paper-strip or string method described in our how to measure your ring size guide — just measure when your child is calm and their hands are at a normal temperature, and keep the strip snug but never tight enough to pinch. Avoid leaving any measuring strip or a finished ring on unattended, and prefer a size that's slightly loose over one that's tight, since a too-tight ring can be uncomfortable or difficult to remove as a child's finger warms up or swells.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a separate kids' ring sizing system?
No — children's rings use the exact same US/Canada, UK/Australia, EU, and Japan scales as adult rings. The chart above simply shows the smallest end of that scale, which is the range most children's fingers fall into.
How often should I re-measure a child's ring size?
Children's fingers grow much faster than adults', so a size that fits today may not fit in 6-12 months. Re-measure before any new purchase rather than relying on an old measurement, and consider an adjustable band for a ring meant to last through a growth spurt.
What if my child's ring is between two sizes?
For a growing child, an adjustable or open-band ring is often the safer choice over guessing a larger fixed size — it avoids both a too-tight fit now and a too-loose fit later. If you do need a fixed size, use the calculator above and check with the jeweler about resizing options.
Is it safe to measure a child's finger the same way as an adult's?
Yes, the same paper-strip or string method works — just measure when your child is calm and their hands are at a normal temperature (not right after cold weather or vigorous play, when fingers can temporarily swell or shrink), and keep the strip snug but never pinching.
